Coulter Fan, UNC Professor: How to Bomb San Francisco Gay Bathhouses

An associate professor of criminology at the University of North Carolina, Mike S. Adams, today has posted on TownHall.com what he considers to be a humorous response to the brouhaha over Ann Coulter's recent use of the word "faggot" to cast aspersions on presidential candidate John Edwards.
While I have no problem with Adams exercising his right to free speech, I am deeply troubled that he calls on Coulter to use her controversy to inflame more hate against homosexuals, and possible incite harm or death to gay men.

2. Begin writing essays calling for the cleansing and purification of society via the mass murder of homosexuals.

3. Distribute videos on the website showing the actual murders of homosexuals.

4. Circulate instructions on how to bomb gay bath houses in San Francisco.
Frankly, I can't imagine any serious professor today calling for anyone write columns demanding we cleanse society of Jews, or distribute videos of African Americans lynched, or sharing directions on bombing gathering places for any minority in America, but it's apparently no problem for Adams, the university that employs him or the editors at TownHall.com.
I feel it necessary to use my free speech rights to counter what Adams has written with some historical facts, starting with the Nazi persecution and attempt to annihilate homosexuals in concentration camps. The photo at the top of this post is from the U.S. Holocaust Museum in Washington and its exhibit a few years back on gays and the Nazis. It shows us homosexuals in the camps, with pink triangles sewn onto their uniforms.

Second, there are far too many dead gay, lesbian and transgender victims for me to laugh at Adams' ideas.

We must remember our murdered brothers and sisters, such as Rashawn Brazell, pictured above, a gay black man murdered in Brooklyn in February 2005 and whose body parts were found in a subway tunnel, and Brandon Teena, a transgender person murdered in Nebraska, and lesbian activists and partners Roxanne Ellis and Michelle Abdill of Oregon, shot to death because of their lesbianism.
I must also point out that there are no bathhouses in San Francisco. They've been shuttered since the 1980s, but why let a fact like that stand in the way of expressing hatred and endorsing violence against gays?
If you don't like what Prof. Adams has proposed, why not send him a letter or give a call, expressing your unhappiness with his opinion? No need to be rude to this bigot who spews vile hatred of other Americans just because he feels the need to be provocative. Just politely let him know you don't approve of his "humor."
His email is adamsm@uncw.edu and his phone number on the UNC Wilmington campus is (910) 962-3425.

Michael, I agree with you that this article was just awful but you are being disingenuous about the bathhouses.. there may not be "bathhouses" as such anymore but SFCA is well known for its private sex clubs. Same thing really.

I don't know. What the prof has done is to take EXACTLY what the worst of the jihadis have done. The clear (and yes, humorous, or at least satirical) implication is that Coulter's worst instints make her a jihadi in all but name and faith. I'll buy that.

Appropriate and moving use of the Holocaust photo, Michael. What a chilling reminder.

The problem with homosexual militants like Andrew Sullivan is that they place such a high priority on their bedroom lifestyle. It is paramount above anything else.

What I find more troubling is that the USMC has given a special waiver to Cpl Matt Sanchez in accepting his sodomy-tainted blood as perfectly ok for his fellow Marines. This, on the same day that the FDA says that any man who has had sex with a man since 1977 cannot donate blood because of the danger.

So Sanchez's anal sex blood (from hundreds of encounters) is perfectly ok for the critical combat blood supply of the USMC, but too dangerous for the general public. Talk about insanity, but that's par for the course for gay Republicans.

In no way shape or form is Patient Less Than Zero a "homosexual militant."

"Anal Sex Blood." Wasn't that punk rock group from Downey?

Mike Adams is a professor at UNC Wilmington, not UNC which refers to the Chapel Hill campus.

Ironically, Edwards is probably the least gay friendly of any of the mainstream Democratic candidates, but he's not a professor here anymore...
